Position Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is a key member of the
Facilities Maintenance team. In this role you will perform basic
and routine maintenance, construction, and repair tasks according
to service, quality, and safety standards.
This position reports to the Facilities Manager.
According to the FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act), this position is
classified as:
- Non-Exempt What You'll Be Doing
- Responsible for general building preventative maintenance.
- Responsible for maintaining the environmental conditions of
spaces.
- Acts as the main contact on facilities related issues and works
with Facilities Engineering Manager on remediation steps as well as
implementing a plan to prevent future occurrences where
possible.
- Performs general housekeeping, including painting.
- Assists in the moving of office furniture, warehouse racking,
workstations, and assists custodian team with snow and ice
control
- Repair and maintenance of mechanical and electrical aspects of
machinery
- Works with production management and engineering on production
line moves
- Machine implementation including, rigging, leveling, facilities
along with testing and modifying as needed to prepare machines for
production.
- Research sources for replacement parts and order as needed
- Follow State OSHA safety regulations and serve as a member on
the safety committee.
- Knowledge and use of hand tools and machine shop equipment
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled,(weekly,
monthly, yearly) and document finished work.
- Participates in daily meetings and reports maintenance
department objectives and opportunities.
- General understanding of electric and electrical controls
- Acts as back up for the Facility Manager for on-call weekend
situations and during PTO
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly rounds and inspections.

Required
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate is an
asset.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a facilities maintenance
position
- Ability to be flexible and respond accordingly to changing
situations.
- Ability to patiently communicate concerns and requirements
related to assigned projects.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Word a plus.
- Ability to write repair reports as well as good verbal
communication.
- Able to read and understand building blueprints and auto cad
documents
- Basic understanding of facility maintenance
- Troubleshoot wiring, motor controls, sensors and photo eyes is
a plus
- Ability to maintain safe work environment.
- Ability to perform problem analysis and problem
resolution.
- Some overtime and weekend hours may be required. Preferred
- Electrical system training/experience
- HVAC training/experience
