Description:Our Client is looking for a motivated Electrical Engineer with experience in cable harness design and a willingness to work in other Electrical Engineering capacities as well. Cable engineering and design is a larger part of our regular workload and we need additional support there. Our client is looking for someone with 1+ years of experience with Cable Engineering.BSEE 1-5 years of work experience in a technical/engineering roleCable harness design experience desired (plus)Experience working with and designing electrical/connection schematicsExperience with designing Printed Wiring Boards (PWB) and Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA) Experience with 3-Phase 115V AC power system with DC power supplies and components (5V, 12V, 28V)4 Year degree or greater in Electrical Engineering or a similar fieldAdditional years of experience can make up for lack of a 4-year degreeWillingness to learn new skills and disciplines cable designCan communicate within a team; to senior engineers/managers, to design peers and to drafters/designers that they will feed designs toWilling to ask questions, either in person or over electronic communication Can manage their own work; understands what work is in their queue, when it needs to be done and executes to complete itAble to dig into design documents to come up with solutions, can investigate design questions and troubleshoot issues when they come upSkills:Hardware, cabling design, wiring schematics, connectors, Schematic, Electrical engineering, Python, Electrical, Altium, Engineering, AnalogTop Skills Details:Hardware,cabling design,wiring schematics,connectors,Schematic,Electrical engineeringAdditional Skills & Qualifications: But eagerness to learn is key. This person will also need to be self driven - they need to be able to solve problems and take initiative and not wait to be told what to do or to ask for more work - they should be able to figure out what needs to be done and go do it. --- Why is this position open? Growth - additional projects increasing and needs on Navy projects. Day to day would be to start with schematic, 20-25% looking through interconnects and dig into that information. Also looking back at the previous day's work as well. Sometimes they can work with a previous design and update it/adapt it for the new design needed. After the interconnects are evaluated you have to be able to work with systems engineers and mechanical engineers to establish what this cable needs to be. 25% would be looking through components, what the wire tabulations are, looking through data sheets, experienced in information for how things are pinned out, and then another 25% is designing the cables, what connectors do I need, what kind of wire do I need, etc, and then come up with part numbers and working with designers/drafters to mature the documentation and get it to released. This person will not always be doing the actual design draft, they are more the problem solving to work with the designers to ultimately make the design.
