Positions Details

Our Life Enrichment Director is responsible for making The Rivers a fun and engaging place to call home! In this role, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating meaningful activities appropriate to the needs and interests of residents and conducive to their physical, mental and social well-being.

Essential Duties

  • Plan, schedule and coordinate all resident activities
  • Develop, plan and schedule programming for our Memory Care unit to support care plans and assure person centered approach
  • Champion and role model behavior management techniques for Alzheimer's disease and related dementia diagnosis
  • Prepare and distribute weekly program content
  • Plan and coordinate special events
  • Plan and coordinate arts program, entertainment for special events, monthly birthday parties, group games, weekly religious services and individual independent projects
  • Incorporate recreational activities from the community and develop close working relationships with community organizations
  • Responsible for activity-related program training for all team members
  • Occasionally assist with transporting residents to appointments as well as regular and special recreational outings
  • Manage a small staff of Life Enrichment team members
  • Promote the Mission, Vision and Values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • An awesome sense of humor, a fun, outgoing personality and caring demeanor
  • The ability to speak, read and comprehend the English language
  • Knowledge of special needs of residents (physical, mental and social)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and/or Adobe Reader

Education/Equivalent Experience & Skills:

  • Degree/certification in recreational activities/life enrichment is highly desirable!
  • High school diploma or equivalent in education, training and experience.
  • Two years working experience in activities/life enrichment with seniors
  • One year supervisory management experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills working with seniors
  • A current and valid driver's license consistent with the requirements determined by size of vehicle and laws of the state in which the driver is licensed
  • Must possess a clean driving record
