We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager, with a focus on Integrated Air Data Systems to support the pursuit, development, qualification, and field support of aerospace sensors and systems. The selected candidate will work in the Integrated Air Data Systems team within the Sensor Systems business.

Duties include developing and implementing electrical design best practices, processes, and procedures, and ensuring the engineering team is properly trained to implement these practices across all our programs. A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with engineers, operations, quality, and supply chain to achieve optimal design solutions which meet requirements while minimizing overall life cycle costs is required. The candidate should be experienced in all phases of the design and manufacturing process, including development and implementation of solutions, using functional decomposition techniques, of an overall system level electrical architecture. Experience in design practices with consideration for system level performance, EMC/EMI, system level bonding and grounding approaches, and worst-case circuit analysis is desired.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment of resource needs within the team with continual monitoring of program activities and their associated loading requirements in the near and long term with direct interface to the various program managers, as well as their direct reports within the electrical engineering team.

The candidate will be required to perform people management activities including timecard monitoring and authorizations, regular performance reviews, coaching, and mentoring. They are directly involved in merit assessments and inputs based on allocated budgets and the individual engineering contributions of the sub-team members. The Electrical Engineering Manager will be looked upon to assess and be cognizant of the professional growth path of the sub-team members and work towards the proper technical career steps in the realization of individual goals as well as the needs and goals of Collins Aerospace.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have experience managing (either directly or indirectly) people and teams.

  • The candidate requires excellent communication skills with all levels of an organization with the ability to facilitate teamwork across functions.

  • Candidate must have strong experience in all phases of the design and manufacturing process, including development and implementation of solutions.

  • Strong experience in design practices with consideration for system level performance, EMC/EMI, system level bonding and grounding approaches, and worst-case circuit analysis.

  • Experience in development of products to Design Assurance Level A per DO-254/DO-178
