Job Title: Sr. Payroll & Compensation Specialist

Trystar's team members are our most important asset, we are in search of a Sr. Payroll & Compensation Specialist, which will be based in our state-of-the-art headquarters in Faribault, MN, or in our corporate office in Burnsville, MN. This role is responsible for full-cycle accurate and timely payroll processing and day-to-day management of any needs related to company payroll. In this role you will get to:

  • Process bi-weekly regular payroll runs, using ADP payroll software platform. Each payroll includes timely uploads of tax, wage attachment, 401(k) contributions/loans, HSA contributions, and direct deposit files
  • Process off-cycle payrolls as needed to comply with state law pay requirements
  • Complete payroll tax reconciliation to timely gather, report, and pay all payroll taxes to Federal, state, and local tax agencies on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Process annual year-end tasks for W-2s and associated reporting
  • Responsible for the payroll administration of the ADP payroll system maintenance of GL rules, tax codes, workflow posting, new hires, terminations, and imports
  • Process Garnishments and Withholding orders, and ensure timely remittance of payment
  • Complete payroll reporting including but not limited to new hire, multiple work site, annual state assessments, and internal company needs such as tax/finance team requests and headcount/overtime/PTO reports
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations and guidelines
  • Respond quickly and accurately to employee inquiries regarding payroll/paycheck issues
  • Conduct ongoing research into emerging trends, issues, and best practices. Participate in compensation surveys, conduct research and analysis on market competitiveness, pay equity, and compensation trends.
  • Support administration of US benefits, including open enrollment.
  • Assist with auditing data across systems for data accuracy.
  • Support the development and integration of new and/or existing rewards programs, policies, and procedures
  • Communicate actively with Accounting, Finance, HR/Recruiting, and other departments to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing
  • Complete special projects as assigned Job Requirements:
    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • 5 years of experience in Payroll
    • 3 years of experience in Compensation
    • 2 years of experience in ADP
      ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
      • FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) or CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred
      • Strong understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws
      • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
      • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
      • Exhibit high level of professional conduct, integrity, and accountability
      • Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining close attention to detail
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
      • Knowledge and understanding of multi-state tax jurisdictions
