Job Description:

Mayo Clinic, a leader in integrated healthcare, education, and research, is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our medical team. This role is pivotal in supporting surgical procedures by ensuring a sterile and safe surgical environment and assisting surgeons and other medical personnel with technical tasks. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in surgical technology, a commitment to patient care, and a thorough understanding of surgical operation procedures. Prepare and maintain sterile medical environments before and during surgical procedures. Assist in setting up surgical instruments and equipment, ensure they are sterile and fully functional. Coordinate with surgeons and surgical staff to handle instruments, supplies, and necessary equipment during surgical procedures. Monitor and anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond swiftly to surgeon's requests. Conduct inventory of all items before and after surgery to ensure all tools are accounted for and intact. Follow all hospital regulations and standards in managing operation rooms and specialized equipment. Assist in the preparation and transport of patients, including positioning and helping with post-surgical dressings. Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques Excellent understanding of surgical instruments and supplies Proficiency in handling and troubleshooting technical equipment in high-stress environments Capability to follow detailed instructions and maintain concentration during procedures Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with surgical teams and patients Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or a similar recognized credential is highly preferable.
