Job Description:
University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Pediatric
Optometrist to join a well-established community practice at the
Minnesota Lions Children's Eye Clinic. University of Minnesota
Physicians is seeking a candidate who will deliver high quality
optometric care to pediatric patient at various clinical sites
throughout the metro.

Position Overview:
The Optometrist performs procedures using independent professional
judgement in the practice of optometry and within the guidelines of
the State of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians.
Qualifications:
--- Doctor of Optometry
--- Minnesota Optometric License
--- Minnesota Diagnostic and Therapeutic Drug License
--- BLS (basic life support) certification or certification within
orientation period
--- Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and
Privileges
--- Experience performing pediatric eye exams, routine eye care,
contact lens services, and management duties
--- Experience in pediatric ocular disease management and
interpreting advanced technology
--- Proficient in the use and interpretation of standard ophthalmic
equipment
--- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
--- May include hospital consults in addition to ambulatory clinic
operations
--- Exceptional professional skills focusing on patient care and
collaboration
--- Detail oriented and self-motivated
--- Education focused and a creative problem-solver
--- Exceptionally strong primary and specialty care referral base
within the care system
--- Fully integrated EMR (EPIC)
--- A qualified candidate will be a graduate of a Doctor of
Optometry (O.D.) degree program
--- Candidate must be licensed or have the ability to obtain
Minnesota Board of Optometry licensure
--- DPA/TPA Certification
--- Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification
--- Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and
Privileges
--- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
--- Detail oriented and self-motivated

The full-time salary range is $120,000 - $150,000 commensurate with
practice experience and may also include incentive compensation or
additional specialty-specific compensation components. Salary
prorated based on FTE.
