Job Description:

DTN LLC is looking for a Director of Events with a strategic mindset to manage our presence at conferences, trade shows and customer events around the world. If you revel in the details and have proven to successfully implement and measure events and activities for multiple industries, in multiple countries with multiple stakeholders we want to get to know you. Our business and industries are constantly changing and as part of the marketing leadership team, the Director of Events must be open to taking on new projects, be creatively pragmatic about how to make things happen and be organized, flexible and calm as priorities evolve and our business grows. A player coach perspective is critical as the Director of Events works to build relationships and find ways to contribute the DTN business and marketing plans while managing an Events Manager and Coordinator to bring excellence to our sales events, customer events and trade shows/conferences. A sense of humor is required. This person will be disciplined, resourceful and flexible, helping to guide the plans and organize, implement and be accountable for the moments and programs that drive the business and deliver ROI, increasing awareness, identifying new prospects, and advancing existing opportunities for DTN. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: A successful DTN Director of Events will:

  • Create the framework for developing, executing and measuring in-person and virtual DTN-hosted events (including webinars) that optimally support sales conversations
  • Set the strategic approach and goals to support the DTN exhibit strategy and demand generation at conferences and tradeshows
  • Establish best practices and actively manage the flow of contacts and leads from events into the Marketing and Sales pipeline
  • Understand and create appropriate environments for retention and upsell for customer events
  • Work with Marketing teams to develop event plans, programs, message alignment and content that support pipeline and bookings goals
  • Negotiate and manage all interactions with event vendors and suppliers
  • Plan and Manage annual DTN Sales Kickoff event
  • Manage the DTN event budget for internal and external events
  • Actively seek and try new channels, platforms and trends to continually improve DTN event success
  • Collaborate with team, colleagues and vendors to create an environment of excellence for DTN events
  • Manage and appropriately resource the event professionals for all internal and external events QUALIFICATIONS AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    • A BA/BS or equivalent
    • CMP is desired but not required
    • A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant event and trade show planning and execution experience
    • Demonstrated ability to influence others and experience managing executive events
    • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills
    • A consistently positive attitude, even under pressure, and a high level of enthusiasm and initiative
    • Familiarity with online and offline marketing tactics and demand generation metrics
    • Frequent travel and onsite event support (domestic and international)
