About the Job
The University of Minnesota, Department of Pediatrics, seeks a
full-time Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) faculty position in
the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Health (DOGPAH).
A successful applicant will be expected to have (Associate rank) or
develop (Assistant rank) an independent research program that leads
to publication and/or presentation in peer-reviewed scholarly
outlets and to seek extramural funding for that research.
Engagement in teaching/mentoring and service to the University and
professional community are also expected. Clinical service
opportunities are available for interested clinicians.
DOGPAH is especially interested in candidates who contribute to the

through their lived experiences, research, teaching, scholarship,
and service. Specifically, we appreciate applications from talented

There are a wide range of resources for new faculty that may
include programs such as tailored training, mentoring, and research
funding through the Early Career Research Award (ECRA) and the
Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). Salaries are
based on the national Association of Administrators in Academic
Pediatrics (AAAP) reported salaries; new faculty are hired at no
less than 95% of the average of the past two years' national median
salary for rank and specialty.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
* A doctoral degree in a health, mental/behavioral health, public
health, social science, or related field, or an MD/DO with board
eligibility or certification in Pediatrics, Medicine/Pediatrics, or
Family Medicine and eligibility to be licensed in the state of
Minnesota
Preferred Qualifications
* Post-doctoral or fellowship research training and experience in a
health science field
* Experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in the
academic, research, and/or health care communities
About the Department
The mission of DOGPAH states: "We are committed to achieving
health, justice, and positive development for all children, youth,
and families through community-centered health care, research,
education, and advocacy." Current DOGPAH faculty conduct clinical,
epidemiologic, community-partnered, and translational research in a
variety of disciplines relating to the health and well-being of
children, adolescents, and young adults. Faculty members are highly
collaborative both within and outside the University of Minnesota
and seek to attract researchers interested in working with other
researchers, clinicians, educators, and community partners for
research and dissemination. Division faculty support their research
by seeking internal and external funding, including grants and
contracts from federal and state agencies, professional
organizations, and private foundations and donors. Translational
research that can help inform policy and practice, especially with
a focus on health inequities, is particularly encouraged. DOGPAH
offers multiple interdisciplinary fellowships that provide training
in child and adolescent health.
