The risk management team enables efficient and effective execution of Corporate, Wholesale, and Line of Business programs, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with the overarching risk management priorities of Wells Fargo while meeting the unique needs of each business.The Capital Finance & Specialty Finance Business Control Team is a part of the larger Wells Fargo Commercial Capital Business Control Team.-- We are responsible for direct engagement with the Capital Finance & Specialty Finance businesses to aid in the understanding, identification, executing, monitoring and mitigation of risks. This position involves managing all aspects of the Capital Finance & Specialty Finance Issues Management program, providing guidance, coordination and support to the businesses during internal WFAS audits including the development of effective corrective actions, credible challenge and monitoring of business' progress to aid in and insure timely resolution, and management and support of the Capital Finance & Specialty Finance product inventories.The Business Control Management Consultant will engage with the Capital Finance & Specialty Finance businesses, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital Control teams, and Independent Risk Management to understand, identify, implement, execute and appropriately monitor the required risk controls in an effective and sustainable manner and help identify, escalate and proactively manage risk.--Individual Responsibilities Serve as the primary day-to-day risk contact for Capital Finance & Specialty Finance Provide guidance, coordination and support to Capital Finance & Specialty Finance during internal audits and testing Support appropriately controlled and timely issue resolution, credible challenge and escalate as appropriate Host Capital Finance & Specialty Finance Issues review meetings to document issue status, provide risk and control expertise, offer credible challenge and support timely resolution Participate in WFCC Issues review meetings to support CAOs in providing issues status, risk and control commentary Work closely with business partners and process champions, develop and or coordinate the development of meaningful and actionable key controls and control metrics for Capital Finance & Specialty Finance Engage with Capital Finance & Specialty Finance and Cross Border Governance Group to complete thorough reviews of all business products and the jurisdictions in which they are offered Maintain control documentation in a central repository to support business response to Testing/Audit/Exam reviews to ensure efficient, timely reviews and minimal disruption to the business Conduct testing and pre-validation of Capital Finance & Specialty Finance issues to ensure corrective action plans are fully implemented and operating effectively to mitigate the issue/risk identified Help ensure proper controls are maintained and continuously updated in appropriate systems of record on an ongoing basis so and appropriately address risks.Leadership, integrity, and credibility will be determining factors in selection.-- Successful candidates will be articulate and possess a demonstrated leadership capability; they will be impressive in their inter-personal effectiveness and with regard to their accomplishments.-- This role requires a leader with strong relationship management, influencing, vision and execution skills.-- A key differentiator will be the ability to understand and operate successfully in a complex and matrixed corporate environment. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.Required Qualifications6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of bothDesired QualificationsAdvanced Microsoft Office skillsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsStrong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracyAbility to interact with all levels of an organizationAbility to facilitate and lead meetings to reach conclusions, identify tasks, record actions, and achieve resultsExperience reviewing testing strategies and methodologies; evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, initiatives, products and internal controls; and identifying issues resulting from internal and/or external compliance examinationsAbility to track and monitor project progress, identify project and process gaps, recommend controls and communicate progress to business leadersKnowledge and understanding of asset based lending or commercial lendingAbility to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and managementKnowledge and understanding of Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) such as reporting and issue managementExperience testing policy and procedures/control testingKnowledge and understanding of credit: policy, compliance, and underwriting requirementsExperience with governance and oversight requirements for regulatory and risk reportingOther Desired Qualifications Understanding of Wells Fargo Capital Finance and/or Specialty Finance business operations, processes, products, and customer interactions.
