II. -- -- -- --Job Summary:--The VP of Finance is responsible
for managing the fiscal operations of EMERGE, including developing
forecasts, budgets, and reports for multiple entities that align
with and support EMERGE's strategic goals, mission, vision and
values. The VP of Finance will develop, implement and maintain
accounting policies and procedures in accordance with generally
accepted accounting principles, that ensure financial transparency
and stability and supports Agency leaders and managers to
effectively manage their programs and budgets. The VP of Finance
will lead, develop and support an effective team of professionals
and is a key member of the Executive Team and is the staff liaison
to the Finance Committee of the Board.--III. -- -- -- Core Job
Functions:--The Vice President of Finance performs a wide range of
duties including but not limited to the following:Recruit, hire,
lead and support a diverse team of qualified, competent staff by
providing effective training & supervision that encourages
continued professional development and ensures delivery of quality
services and continuous progress toward meeting department and
agency goals.In collaboration with Executive and other leaders,
develop and support short and long-term operational strategies to
meet EMERGE's strategic financial goals, including setting and
managing of annual finance/accounting department goals.Develop,
implement and manage the agency's financial policies, practices and
procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, generally
accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other accounting
standards and best practices, as well as contract and funder
requirements to effectively manage the evolving requirements of the
agency's social enterprises and maintain alignment with the
organization's strategic plan, mission, vision and values.Lead
EMERGE's budget and financial planning and management processes by
developing financial systems, reports, models, forecasts and
projections to develop balanced budgets that incorporate the
agency's mix of revenue resources to balance expense with revenue
while generating positive cash flow and support and assist managers
with fiscal planning and budget management.--Continuously monitor,
analyze and report on the agency's financial performance and
effectively manage organizational cash flow by working in
partnership with Executive and other leadership to--assess the
financial efficacy of program operations and make appropriate
adjustments when needed.Partner with the President & CEO to
communicate and report on the agency's financial health to the
Board of Directors and Finance committee, attending all meetings
and acting as its staff liaison.Coordinate and lead the annual
audit process, liaise with external auditors and board finance
committee to ensure the timely and successful completion of annual
audits, IRS filings and other mandated reporting to maintain the
501c3 nonprofit status.Oversee all contracts and grants accounting,
billing, collections and financial compliance to ensure that
expenditures are consistently aligned with contract, grant and
program budgets throughout the contract/grant/fund period and all
financial reporting materials for government, corporate, and
foundation contracts and grants are accurate, complete and prepared
in a timely manner.Oversee the day-to-day accounting functions to
ensure all accounting transactions are completed correctly and
timely, including, but not limited to, accounts payable, billing,
accounts receivable, payroll reconciliation, bank reconciliations,
fixed assets, collections and debt payments.Manage and track the
performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and
investment guidelinesDirect the development, distribution and
implementation of Finance policies and procedures to ensure
department policies and procedures are up to date and consistent
with overall agency policies and procedures, coordinating policy
review with Human Resources, as needed.Manage the storage of
required financial documents to meet compliance standards.Perform
any other tasks and duties necessary for the agency to meet its

Requirements:--Education and Experience--Bachelor's degree in
accounting, business administration or related field, MBA preferred
or equivalent combination of education and relevant work
experience.--Five+ years' experience in a similar leadership role
in a complex non-profit organization with a diverse funding
portfolio preferred, for-profit experience a plus. --Previous
experience with government contracts, private foundation grants,
and individual contributionsDemonstrated experience in financial
planning and analysis--Demonstrated success developing and
monitoring systems to manage financial, operational and
programmatic work that involve high levels of
collaborationExperience with developing, supervising and leading
successful teams.Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesDemonstrated skills
in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and
Outlook.Demonstrated skill and proficiency with financial
management software, Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT
preferred.Knowledge of nonprofit fund accounting, auditing and tax
management--Strong working knowledge of finance law and regulatory
standards, including generally accepted accounting principles
(GAAP) and federal, state, and local tax compliance and
reporting.Ability to translate complex financial concepts to
individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance
leaders.Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills
which allows for strategic data interpretationCPA--or CMA
designation desirable (active or inactive)Technology savvy with
experience selecting and overseeing software installations and
managing relationships with software vendors preferred.Ability to
work effectively in a mission-driven agency whose clients and staff
reflect significant diversity with respect to race, ethnicity,
gender, orientation, socio-economic status, nationality and
religion.Ability to establish and maintain positive working
relationships with others, both internally and externally, to
achieve the goals of the organization.Ability to communicate
effectively with diverse audiences using appropriate and effective

and effectively with agency managers and leaders to set goals,
resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational
effectiveness.Ability to assess situations to determine the
importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are

-- ----V. -- -- -- --Working Conditions and
Environment:--Enterprise: Incumbent will have a private
office/designated workspace in a typical office environment. The
building is multiple floors and fully accessible and is smoke-free.
Work will include regular local travel. Working hours are generally
Monday through Friday, 8 am-5:00 pm but will include occasional
evening and weekend hours. Some work from home opportunities may be
available. The noise level in the work environment is usually low,
but sometimes moderate.------Compensation details: 109000-120000
